A leaf guard is a perforated aluminum cover that fits over your existing eavestrough. Leaves, needles and shingle grit stay on top and blow off. Water still goes through.
Both Alu-Rex systems we install are retrofits — they go on the gutters you already have, so you're not replacing a trough that's working fine.

Can guards go on the gutters I already have?
Yes. Both Gutter Clean Pro® and Gutter Clean System® are retrofit products designed to fit existing eavestroughs. We'll check the condition of your trough and fascia first — if the gutter itself is failing, a guard on top of it won't fix that, and we'll tell you so.
Gutter Clean Pro® or Gutter Clean System®?
It depends on what's falling. Gutter Clean Pro®'s dual-layer design is for heavy tree cover, especially pines — the offset perforations stop needles that a single layer lets through. Gutter Clean System® is the proven single-layer option for open lots with lighter debris.
Will they really stop pine needles?
Gutter Clean Pro® will. That's what Eclipse™ technology is for — the holes in the two aluminum layers are deliberately offset, so water works its way through but needles and fine grit sit on the surface and blow off.
Do the gutters get cleaned before installation?
Always. There's no point sealing a season of debris under a new guard. We clear the trough and downspouts, check the flow, and then the guard goes on.
Do I ever have to get up there again?
Not for gutter cleaning. The guard keeps the trough clear, and anything that lands on top dries out and blows off. Both systems carry a clog-free warranty — 25 years on Gutter Clean System®, lifetime on Gutter Clean Pro®.
DoublePro® or T-Rex®?
DoublePro® for heavy tree cover, pine needles, or a metal roof where snow and debris come off fast — it guards and reinforces at the same time. T-Rex® for open properties with little debris, where you want the trough locked down solid but don't need a cover over it.
Do Continuous Hanger™ systems help prevent leaks?
Yes. Reinforcing the trough end to end stops the movement and flex that opens up gaps at the corners and pulls the gutter away from the fascia. Less movement, fewer leaks.
Do you send photos when it's done?
Yes, on every job. Most of this work happens above a second storey where you can't see it, so you get before-and-after photos of the finished run.
